Freebird Metal Craft
What we look for in a photograph, is to establish a silhouette. The better the separation of parts the better the end product. This Photo could only be better with the slight separation of Reno’s front legs. The picture is bright and clear. Look for a background that will not interfere with the color of the object you are trying to separate. Perhaps the background of a light colored barn or garage.

Phase 4 Final
We would like to thank Laura & Tony Calcagni of Red Horse Ranch for this photo of their horse Reno
In the next step, we take your photograph and separate the object to be converted in to a steel art piece, (Here being Reno, the horse), from it's background.
In Phase 3, we convert this image in to a monograph picture, preparing to import in to our AutoCAD software.
Once this image has been imported to our AutoCAD software, there is a lot of clean up. This is the connecting of the lines to be done in order to allow for a 2-D art piece to be cut.
This is the final project. In this case, we applied the image to the top of a Dinner Bell concept with a continued cut in the metal. The completed product is then finished with whatever top coat is requested. This piece measures approximately 15" tall by about 12" wide.
